Seven Tips to Eliminate Procrastination

“Don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today.” Well, easier said than done. But there are just times when procrastination can’t be avoided. But turning this into a habit may cause some serious problems that could hinder you from reaching your goals.
Here are seven tips that will help eliminate your habit of procrastinating.

1) Work out a plan of action. At the end of each day, establish a plan for the next day. Jot down the things that you need to do and establish a long-term plan that can motivate you.

2) List down things that you need to do. Determine the important tasks you need to do. Learn how to prioritize them and find out if each task is attuned to your personal goal.

3) Give priority to the most difficult task first. See to it that you handle the most challenging task in the morning when your motivation to work is still high and you are still eager to accomplish a task. Postponing it at a time when your energy is almost down makes the task seem more enormous and more daunting to accomplish.

4) Give yourself an incentive. Congratulate yourself for a job well done when you have accomplished a task that seems difficult for you. Reward yourself with a massage, a long vacation or a foot spa.

5) Work in trying to eliminate the habit of procrastination. Realize that you deserve a life that is free from procrastination. Give importance to your personal and professional welfare so that you will be able to learn how to refuse things that can cause you to procrastinate.

6) Be responsible to another person. Choose somebody who will serve as your success partner. The individual should not criticize you if you do not succeed. By doing this, you are well on your way to overcoming procrastination.

7) Take a break from your busy schedule. One of the main reasons why people procrastinate is because they are simply too exhausted to do another task. Get some rest and give time for yourself. As much as possible, try to get to bed early at least once a week. Whenever possible, have an eight hour sleep. Establish a daily limit to your tasks so that you can have enough time to take a pause and have sufficient time for yourself and rest.

Follow these tips and you will no longer fall into the trap called procrastination.
